How to get rid of Wanted status in Palworld
Attacking an NPC — a merchant, a guard, a villager — flags you Wanted, and the PIDF start hunting you. It is not permanent and there is no fine to pay: you simply have to break the pursuit.
Break line of sight and wait
The status only holds while the PIDF can find you. Get away from the settlement, put terrain between you and them, and watch the awareness bar fall. Roughly 30 seconds out of sight clears it.
Fast travel away
Warping to a distant statue drops the pursuit immediately — guards do not follow you across the map. The fastest reliable option if a statue is in reach.
Take off on a flying mount
Going vertical breaks pursuit quickly and stops more guards spawning around you. Any flyer works.
Die on purpose
Blunt but quick. Pursuers break off the moment you go down, and you are back after a short respawn. You drop your inventory where you fell, so weigh it against the alternatives.
Beat the guards
If nothing is left chasing you, nothing keeps the status active. PIDF units hit hard, so this is the slowest and riskiest route unless you are well past their level.
Reload the save
Quitting to the menu and loading back in clears it outright. Effective, though it undoes anything since your last autosave.
What each crime adds to your bounty
The wanted level is driven by a bounty, and the game states exactly what each offence is worth. It is not a vague escalation — killing a guard is ten times the theft of an item, and that ratio is why one bad fight can put you at a level a shopping trip never would.
| Crime | Bounty added |
|---|---|
| Kill police | 5,000 |
| Attack to police | 3,000 |
| Murder | 3,000 |
| Attack to non criminal | 1,000 |
| Theft item | 500 |
| Area invasion | 500 |
Which one to use
If you have a flyer out, take off — it is the fastest and costs nothing. If you do not, fast travel. Dying works but drops your inventory, and fighting the PIDF is only sensible if you are comfortably stronger than they are.
The same question, asked six ways
“Lose your wanted level”, “stop being wanted”, “become unwanted”, “get rid of wanted” — all the same mechanic, and the answer is the same for all of them: the status is held up by pursuers being able to see you, so it ends when they cannot.
Two things people get wrong. It does not tick down while you are being chased, so waiting it out in the open does not work. And fighting back is the one route that makes it worse — the bounty table above prices attacking a guard at 3,000 and killing one at 5,000, against 500 for the theft that probably started it.
Where this page’s information comes from
Most of paldb.gg is extracted from Palworld’s own game files. This page is not — the Wanted system is behaviour rather than a value in a data table — so it carries no extraction stamp and was verified against current sources in August 2026. For anything with a number attached, the Paldex and item pages are the first-party ones.
