How to level up fast
The usual advice is "craft a stack of arrows". The XP table says that stops working almost immediately: a craft is worth 5 XP at level 1 and still worth 5 XP at level 100, while a kill goes from 10 to 179,210. Here is what the game actually pays for each thing you can do.
1. Run dungeons, not the overworld
Every dungeon carries an explicit XP multiplier in the game files, and they are not close to each other — the range runs from ×3 up to ×8. The same fight is worth more than twice as much in the right dungeon, which makes “which dungeon” a bigger decision than “what to kill”.
| Dungeon | XP multiplier |
|---|---|
| Sky Island dungeon | ×8 |
| Yakushima dungeon | ×7.5 |
| Feybreak dungeon | ×7 |
| Sakurajima dungeon | ×6.5 |
| Snowfield dungeon | ×6 |
| Volcano dungeon | ×5.5 |
| Desert dungeon | ×5 |
| Forest dungeon II | ×4.5 |
| Forest dungeon I | ×4 |
| Grassland dungeon II | ×3.5 |
| Grassland dungeon I | ×3 |
| Island dungeon I | ×3 |
| Island dungeon II | ×3 |
| Island dungeon III | ×3 |
Full loot tables for each are on the dungeons page.
2. Stop crafting for XP
This is the one that costs people the most time. Crafting XP is a flat 5 per item, and it does not scale with your level — not at 20, not at 60, not at 100. Kill XP does scale, steeply. The advice to mass-craft arrows was reasonable in the first few hours and has been repeated ever since.
| Your level | XP per kill | XP per craft | XP per build |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10 | 56 | 5 | 5 |
| 20 | 259 | 6 | 7 |
| 30 | 626 | 5 | 10 |
| 40 | 1,250 | 5 | 11 |
| 50 | 2,468 | 5 | 12 |
Building XP does creep up — 5 to 12 by level 50 — but it never gets close to killing. Both are worth doing for the things they produce, not for the experience.
3. Know what the curve does
The XP requirement climbs far faster than the XP you earn, which is why the same grinding loop feels fine at 20 and hopeless at 45. Reaching level 50 takes 2,378,134 XP in total, against 5,510 for level 10.
The full per-level table is on the XP table page.
4. Send expeditions while you do it
18 expeditions run on a timer with Pals you are not otherwise using, so they cost you nothing but the assignment. They are not a fast route on their own — they are the thing that should always be running in the background while you do the routes above. Every expedition with its element gate and duration is listed separately.
One number this page will not give you
Capture bonus XP is the biggest single source in the game, and Palworld ships a 4,999-row table of it. What it does not ship is a label for that table’s index column — it is not Pal level, which caps far below 4,999 — so any statement of the form “capturing a level-20 Pal gives you X” would be a guess wearing a number’s clothing. The table is real and we have it; what it is keyed on is not established, so it stays out until it is.
