Where to get materials
42 materials, each with the Pals that drop it and the rate the game actually rolls. Every guide to this says "kill Pals that drop bones" — the drop tables say which Pals, at what percentage, in what quantity, and where they live.

Why the average matters more than the rate
A 100% drop of one item and a 20% drop of five are the same thing on average, and the game shows you neither. “Avg per kill” is the rate multiplied by the mean of the quantity range — it is the only derived number in this cluster, and it is what actually ranks one Pal above another when you are choosing where to spend an hour.
Which materials get a page
Not all of them. A material earns a URL when people search for it and the game files say something about where it comes from — a drop table, a recipe, a merchant, or a loot table. Materials nobody looks up stay as rows here rather than becoming thin pages, and a material we could only shrug at would not be worth either.
