Best base locations in Palworld

Ranked from the game's own level data: 7,225 resource nodes with exact positions, swept for the patches where the most sit within 100 m of one spot, with the level of what roams nearby. What the files do not carry — flat ground, water, the nearest statue — is not claimed.

The densest resource sites on the map

PalDB calculation

Scored by how much sits within 100 m, weighted by scarcity — a crude-oil field counts 5× an ore node because there are 1,784 ore nodes and 184 oil fields. The best site on the map is 100. Pick a resource below for the ranking that actually matters to you — or, for the two questions people actually ask, where a first base is safe and where ore and coal share one Palbox.

By what you need

How the ranking is computed

  1. Game data: the position and type of every ore, coal, sulfur, pure quartz, paldium, crude oil, crystal, soralite, nightstar sand node on the main map, read from the World Partition cells, and the position, biome and level range of every field spawner. The map draws the same nodes.
  2. PalDB parameter: a 100 m reach. The base area is set in the Palbox blueprint, not a data table, so this radius is ours — it is the same for every site, which is what a ranking needs.
  3. PalDB calculation: score = Σ nodes within reach × weight, where weight = ore nodes ÷ nodes of that type, capped at 5; normalised so the best site is 100. Sites closer than 200 m to a better one are dropped, so no patch of ground is listed twice.
  4. Region and levels come from the spawners within 400 m — the biome the game names them with, and the lowest and highest level they place. A site with no named spawner nearby is shown as unlabelled rather than guessed.
  5. Not modelled: flat ground, water, the nearest fast-travel statue (not among the actor classes the scan sees), and dungeon or tower interiors — those stream in at the world origin and are excluded rather than drawn as a fake deposit. Check the ground yourself before you place the Palbox.

Spawn level by map area

Every field spawn placement on the main island — 6,903 of them — dropped into an 8×8 grid. Colour is the median level of what spawns there; the number is how many placements sit in that square. Blue is safe, red will kill you.

Big number: median spawn level. Small number: placements in that square.

How many bases, and how big

The limits people argue about are just settings. BaseCampMaxNumInGuild ships at 4 — that is the real “how many bases can I have”. The 128 in BaseCampMaxNum is a server-wide ceiling that gets mistaken for a personal one constantly. Both are on the server settings page.

Only the levels where the number changes are shown. The default server cap on workers is separate again — BaseCampWorkerMaxNum, which ships at 15 and is the usual cause of base lag when people raise it. Four bases is the maximum; the second, third and fourth unlock at base camp levels 8, 15 and 25.

Once the site is chosen, the base team planner picks the workers for what you will build there, and the mining ranking says which of them actually clear an ore patch. The map shows 43,595 nodes in all.
