Ancient Technology Points come only from tower bosses. Ordinary levelling never provides them, which is why this cannot be bought with the points you accumulate.
Summoning Altar exists to unlock Summoning Altar, and becomes available at level 33 for 3 Ancient Technology points.
What it unlocks
Level 33 unlocks 9 technologies in total, and you will not have the points for all of them. The others are Broncherry Saddle (2), Electric Mine (2), Polymer (2), Snowman (2), Water Grenade (2), Blazehowl Saddle (3), Old Revolver (3) and Ragnahawk Saddle (3). The planner opens with Summoning Altar already picked, and works a points budget against the whole tree.
